Ukraine? Where’s That?
Apr 11 2014Three weeks after Putin annexed Crimea, a Washington Post poll found that only 1 in 6 Americans can find Ukraine on a map. The other 5 think it is just about anywhere. Each dot on this map shows where those polled think it is located. As seen by the dots, a few even think it is in the United States.
The poll also found this oddity: "The less Americans know about Ukraine's location, the more they want the U.S. to intervene". That's worrisome if Congress doesn't know geography.
